Position Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and technically skilled MRV Specialist to support carbon accounting, greenhouse gas (GHG) monitoring, emissions reporting, and verification activities for environmental and climate projects.

The candidate will play a key role in developing and managing Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (MRV) systems for waste management, renewable energy, landfill gas recovery, circular economy, and carbon credit projects aligned with international standards such as Verra, Gold Standard, ISO 14064, and GHG Protocol.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain MRV frameworks for carbon reduction and climate projects
  • Monitor greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and carbon reduction performance
  • Prepare technical reports, monitoring reports, and carbon accounting documentation
  • Conduct baseline emissions assessments and data analysis
  • Coordinate data collection from project sites and operational teams
  • Support carbon credit certification and validation processes
  • Ensure compliance with international MRV methodologies and reporting standards
  • Assist in carbon market research and carbon credit quantification
  • Work closely with engineering, environmental, ESG, and sustainability teams
  • Maintain project databases, dashboards, and verification records
  • Support third-party audits, validations, and verification activities

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree Or related disciplines  in:

  • Environmental Science
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Climate Change
  • Renewable Energy
  • GIS / Remote Sensing
  • Sustainability Management
  • Civil / Chemical Engineering

 

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in:
    • Carbon accounting
    • MRV systems
    • ESG reporting
    • Climate projects
    • Waste management or renewable energy projects
  • Experience with carbon credit standards and methodologies will be preferred
  • Knowledge of landfill gas (LFG), waste-to-energy, methane reduction, or circular economy projects is a strong advantage

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of:
    • GHG Protocol
    • ISO 14064
    • Verra / VCS
    • Gold Standard
    • Carbon markets & climate finance
  • Data analysis and reporting skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
  • Knowledge of GIS, remote sensing, or environmental datasets is a plus
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

Additional Preferred Skills

  • Experience in landfill methane monitoring or waste sector emissions accounting
  • Familiarity with ESG frameworks and sustainability reporting
  • Experience preparing documents for validation and verification bodies (VVBs)
